Janice Brucato, 64, of Solon, Ohio passed away March 27, 2020. She was born October 18, 1955 to Joseph and Hazel Maley; brother Jim Maley (Wilma), sister Joanne Zeroske; daughter Nicole Brucato Cooley (Ian); grandsons Micah and Emerson; son Jesse Circelli.

Nurse Janice Brucato was a Team Lead Clinical Nurse in the Women’s Health Institute at Cleveland Clinic, Hillcrest Hospital. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, graduating summa cum laude, from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio. In addition, she obtained a Master’s in Health Care Administration from the University of Phoenix. Jan delivered care to mothers and babies in labor and delivery, critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit, and patients in the Woman’s Health Institute. She was a preceptor and mentor to senior students from Case Western Reserve University, Kent State University, Ursuline College, Notre Dame College, Baldwin Wallace University, and Cleveland State University.

In addition, Janice Brucato created and managed the fundraiser “Bake Off for Babies” at Hillcrest Hospital which supports the March of Dimes. Also, Janice created and managed funding for “Co-Workers in Need” at Hillcrest Hospital which supports employees during stressful events. She was a passionate snow skier, tennis player, event planner, and blood pressure volunteer.

As a nurse she helped thousands in need over the last 40 years, but above all, she shared her warm personality, smile, loving care, enthusiasm, and good humor in devotion to her family, friends, and co-workers, as well as her patients. She truly cared for us all and deeply touched those who surrounded her.

Funeral Mass will be held at Church of the Resurrection in Solon. The gathering is being delayed with a tentative date of June 20th at 10:00 A.M. Hopefully, by then people may safely congregate again and come together to celebrate Jan.
