The Call of Dilexi-Te

“I HAVE LOVED YOU.” With those words, Pope Leo opens his first Apostolic Exhortation, Dilexi-Te, a message to both the global church and a call to each of us individually. He reminds us of God’s preferential love for the poor and calls us to respond to their needs. How do we respond? Come, learn what has been done in the past, but more importantly help shape what we will do in the future. Thursday evening May 14 from 6:00 - 8:00pm at Church of the Resurrection. Deacon Paul Kipfstuhl from St. Francis Xavier Parish in Medina and the Diocesan Social Action Office will facilitate a discussion on Dilexi-Te.

The Pope Leo Village Project

Our parish is joining Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity to build Pope Leo Village — a new neighborhood for working families. Sessions run in small crews, with flexible shifts, and require zero construction experience. Whether you swing a hammer or serve a meal, your hands help build a home.

May & June 2026: Build the Walls

Build the framing for Pope Leo Village. Ideal for getting comfortable with tools while working alongside seasoned volunteers. Ages 14+ are welcome (parent/guardian must be present for anyone under 18).

June & July 2026: Build the Houses & Hospitality Crew

Site Installation team helps raise the walls on the actual build site. This varied work lets you see the direct impact of your labor as the village takes shape. Ages 16+ are welcome (parent/guardian must be present for anyone under 18)

Hospitality Crew provides the fuel for our builders. Prepare, pack, and deliver hearty lunches to the shop and site crews to keep spirits and energy high.
