Welcome Ministers (two per Mass) arrive 15 minutes before Mass to welcome parishioners and guests. They provide the first impression of what it means to be a member of the community of believers that is our Church of the Resurrection!

An individual or family is scheduled once a month, and the schedule is posted on the parish website and in the sacristy workroom. Schedule is updated every three months.

Each Welcome Minister checks in with the Eucharistic Minister Coordinator (with clipboard), and stands at one of the church entry doors in the Gathering Area at least 15 minutes before Mass. They wear nametags and greet people as they enter the church building.

Ushers or their designates are the ones who distribute worship aids, and are stationed on either side of the doors to the Worship Space. If no one is at the doors to the Worship Space, Welcome Ministers are to ask two parishioners to distribute the Worship Aids at those doors until the priest is ready to process into the Worship Space. Welcome Ministers should continue to welcome people in the Gathering Area until the priest has entered the church and the ushers/pastoral associates have closed the center doors, before returning to their seats.

After Mass and wearing nametags, both Welcome Ministers again stand by the church entrance doors to say goodbye and answer questions as people exit the church. Then, at least one of them should mingle for a few minutes in Trivison Hall for the social.

Subs should be arranged if someone is unable to fulfill his/her scheduled date. If, on a day a Welcome Minister who is NOT scheduled comes to Mass and sees that the assigned Welcome Minister(s) are absent, s/he is asked to consider putting on a name tag and filling the Welcome Minister spot for that Mass.
