The Loaves & Fishes program officially began in Lent of 2007, with the parish donating a percentage of its operating budget to charitable causes in the Cleveland area. The Charitable Giving Board oversees the process. $10,000 this year was divided among the following applicants:
Harmony Foundation International : received funds to provide music education for youth at Cuyahoga Hills Juvenile Correctional Facility.
Joseph & Mary Home: received funds to provide welcome bags of clothing and hygiene items to new residents experiencing homelessness.
Light of Hearts Villa: received funds for residents who have exhausted all financial resources and need assistance paying for their care.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace: received funds to purchase supplies to provide fully furnished twin beds for children without them.
The Treehouse Ohio: received funds to purchase an Apple iMac to use for parent intake, scheduling, etc.
